Windmills 8U Win Their Summer Classic Tournament

The Windmills Girls Fastpitch Organization hosted the 8 and under Summer Classic Softball Tournament on July 7th and 8th at Ridgeland Commons in Oak Park.  The Boomingdale All-Stars, Darien Diamonds, Oak Park Huskies, Morris Rowdie Kittens, Naperville Diamonds, Plainfield Silver, and Windmills Red and Blue teams competed for the title in 90-degree heat.  The Windmills Red team went 3-0 in pool play while the Blue team went 2-1 and defeated a tough Naperville team 10 to 5 to play the Red team in the championship game.  After a brief cooling off under the hoses, the Blue team defeated the Red team for the championship.  The Windmills 8U teams finished their July tournament schedule by placing first and third in Flossmoor and first and second in Lake Zurich.
